PHOENIX, Ariz. – ElevateEdAZ is proud to announce its expansion into ASU Preparatory Academy (ASU Prep). ElevateEdAZ is focused on preparing students in the Greater Phoenix region for college and career by aligning education to workforce learning pathways to serve the needs of Arizona’s leading industries. These efforts are aligned to help Valley business owners meet the growing workforce demand as more high-wage, high-demand employers expand in and relocate to Arizona.

“We are beyond excited to partner with ElevateEdAZ, an organization that shares our goal to help students prep for college, career, and life,” said Julie Young, vice president of educational outreach of student services at Arizona State University and managing director of ASU Preparatory Academy. “With a shared program like ours, ASU Prep students will be able to successfully compete for high-impact careers with relevant experience and a strong collegiate foundation. I look forward to seeing how students thrive.”

Expanding ElevateEdAZ to ASU Prep boosts the number of participating schools in the initiative to 13 throughout the Greater Phoenix region. It will impact over 26,000 students and teachers through access to work-based learning engagements, job shadows, internships, externships, mock interviews, and more.

ElevateEdAZ is continuously working with schools and school districts to increase the number of students completing high-wage, high-demand career pathways, provide more students with work-based learning experiences, increase attainment of industry-recognized credentials and postsecondary credit through dual enrollment, and empower educators to reimage classroom learning through externships to teach students relevant workplace skills. By expanding to ASU Prep, ElevateEdAZ will provide more students access to opportunities that will prepare them for college and career.

“We are thrilled to expand the ElevateEdAZ reach in providing students with opportunities for work-based learning experiences and access to high-wage, high-demand pathways,” said Jennifer Mellor, chief innovation officer, Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation.
