Arizona is a financial services hub with a growing number of positions, especially entry-level financial advisors, analysts, and investment professionals. As the number of jobs continues to grow, companies need alternative pathways for talent development. In order to maintain a robust talent pool for optimal market competitiveness, several Phoenix-based financial institutions joined together to form the Financial Services Collaborative.
WHAT IS THE FINANCIAL SERVICES COLLABORATIVE?
The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation Financial Services Collaborative is an employer-led forum for companies seeking financial services talent, working collectively to increase the talent pool. The Collaborative developed programming to incentivize potential employees to pursue training and licensing in the financial services sector. Following two successful pilot programs with the Series 7 exam, the Collaborative launched a month-long training program to prepare individuals to pass the new, initial licensing exam, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam.
Once a candidate completes the training and passes the SIE Exam, they are eligible for hire by one of the participating employers, who will then sponsor the candidate to take subsequent licensing exams. Targeted outreach focuses on promoting these career opportunities to women and minorities, who typically do not pursue these careers.

HOW IT WORKS
The Financial Services Collaborative is an employer-led forum for companies seeking talent to fill entry-level positions. Participating employers attend regularly scheduled meetings with a dedicated Workforce Development Professional and provide feedback on the program’s development and implementation. Additionally, employers receive access to qualified candidates who are interested in financial services careers and are working toward passing the SIE Exam.
