CHICAGO –The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation has committed to a partnership with Skills to support the talent needs of businesses in the region by creating a “Powered by Skills” talent solution to connect local Arizonans with quality positions and a path to economic mobility. This marks Skills’ first “Powered by Skills” affiliate site approach, which layers on components of the proven successful jobs-first model within already established workforce organizations. Phoenix will now be Skills’ third affiliate site, including Chicago and Rhode Island.

“I’m thrilled that the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation has chosen to partner with Skills to bring an innovative solution to address the workforce challenges in their region and support their economic growth plans,” said Daniel Cervantes, SVP of Strategic Initiatives and National Expansion at Skills. “Their position in the market and shared values make them an outstanding fit as our first ‘Powered by Skills’ affiliate site. I can’t wait to work more deeply with their team and help create economic mobility for Arizonans one job at a time.”

By focusing on talent acquisition and placing unemployed and underemployed Arizonans with local companies who are members of the Greater Phoenix Chamber, this “Powered by Skills” service line brings new capabilities to the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation’s suite of employer-led workforce collaboratives. The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation’s “Powered by Skills” service line will begin operations in the first half of 2023 with a focus on serving communities that have experienced disinvestment.

“Now, more than ever, programs like Skills are crucial for the health of our community, businesses, and economy.,” said Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Chamber. “We look forward to our new partnership, which will allow us to continue addressing ongoing workforce challenges around the Valley and Arizona.”
